SMOK Nord 5: What the Pod Lock Secures
SMOK describes coil retention. Its product page does not establish a blanket child-safety or leakproof certification.
SMOK locates the Nord 5’s highlighted lock in the pod. Its product page says the mechanism retains the coil and addresses leakage associated with accidental coil removal.
The page also connects the feature with children’s safety. The passages reviewed do not name a child-resistance test standard, report or result. That limits what can be verified here; it does not establish that no testing exists elsewhere.
Coil retention is different from disabling electronic controls or switching off the device. The pod description should not be expanded into a claim about either function.
SMOK’s separate safety notice still requires keeping products and small parts away from children and pets, and warns against attempting repairs.
VapeBrief has not tested the latch, leakage or child resistance. This review identifies the documented mechanism and the limits of its published safety claim; it is not a certification assessment.
